German Car Manufacteurs are worlwide the most innovatives

I think it is a good time to also present some things about Germany on my blog. Therefor I have read an excellent Article and translated it into english...Enjoy it!

Research: German carmanufateurs are worldwide the most innovatives

The German car manufactures are allowed to boast themself with a high Power of Innovation. In comparison to their foreign competition, they placed/rolled out an extraordinary amount of novelties and improvements on the market. Their technological Advance pays the multicorporate enterprises off/back.
Frankfurt/Bergisch Gladbach(Germany) – Considering  the Amount of Innovation, German Car Manufactures have outshined/surpassed the foreign competitors and rivals. According to a current research of the “Center of Automotive Management (CAM)”, there were in total 791 innovations placed worldwide on the market last year by 18 of this research analyzed car manufactures from all over the world.  307 or almost 40 % of those innovations belongs to German car manufactures.
“The situation of German Car manufactures in the global competition of Innovations is at the present time excellent/outstanding”, was said on this Friday by the leader of this survey, Mr. Stefan Bratzel. With the help and possibilities of increasingly growing and more flexible technical construction sets and configurations, the new customers’ requirements can be served and apprehended more and more fast.
The Joy on Innovations has an immediate impact on the turnover. Looking at the numbers and data of the consultancy “PricewaterhouseCoopers – PwC”, the turnover of cars shrinked about 7,8 % in Europe in the year 2012. Thus, “BMW” and “Mercedes-Benz” could stabilize their numbers of sales/turnover, even “Audi” raised/enhanced their numbers of sales/turnover about 3,7 %. “Volkswagen” reached an significantly accrual about 35% considering the sales and turnover in the American Market, even when the car market in the United States of America increased its turnover of 13,4 %.
Mr. Felix Kuhnert, leader of the department “Automotive” of PwC in Germany and Europe, mentioned, that the Manufactures strengthen especially the branch of compact cars by introducing a lot of new Models and Variations as well as with new innovative Features.
Mr. Stefan Bratzel brings up the argument of an “industrial democratization of innovations”, because there were more and more Novelties introduced and used also in the sales branch of lower-middle-class cars. For the first time, it is possible that several Car-Assistant systems as an active “Lane Departure Warning System – LDW”, a “Brake-controlled Parking Assist System” or an “Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)” with an integrated Stop-and-go-Function are available in this sales branch.
The Center of Automotive Management provides an own database which lists/contains an overview about all Innovations related to the technical achievements of cars. According to their own indications, there are more than 5000 new Innovations listed including several years from the past to now.

Don't Worry - Be Angry Part II

Don't Worry - Be Angry Part II

Try II - Adapting to the Finnish Culture

Hei!
As you could get an interesting image on the my journy to adapting into the finnish culture from my last blog post,  I would like to continue the essential parts and ideas of the finnish culture.

"We are in Finnland...we don't smile..." said by one of Henna-Emilia's relatives. Interesting point, is that an impact of the darkness, the heavy metal and the cold in combination? Is Finland and its people that straight and not able to take any humour? Or are we other Europeans just annormal?

Well nowadays, there is the light,  and the cold is trying to escape from Finland...

Yes, Trust your eyes...it is +2 °C...YIPPIEAH... Spring is coming...

And yes I know, don't bother me guys, I know that you are all right there having some amazing warm hot BBQ, laying lazy in the sun and wearing t-shirts and short pants, while I am running with my winter jacket, Winterboots, (winter)-Scarf, (Winter)-Cap.. maybe I should stop mentioning Winter..because the sun is shining now in Rovaniemi, Volbeat and Stone Sour came up with a new Album :) and everything seems to be totally perfect!

Let's see how the reaction will be according to the Sun.
Some People just enjoy the sun...

... and I hope that the reaction of the finnish people to the sun does not appear like the following...

" We don't let the cold go... No.... Never xD " :D

Oh no.. they stole our precious...
So, coming up to another essential part of the finnish culture, besides Sauna,  is the so called Ice-Fishing.

to be continued...

Switch off the Darkness in Finland! - Part I

Switch off the Darkness in Finland!

Try 1: Adapting to the Finnish Culture

On my way to adapt more successfully into the finish culture, I ve just completed three new steps, on which I want to report to you!

Well I ll assume that you all know the "Tour-de-France", or the Formula 1 GP, when all the communities and states are closing the streets and preparing them for the specialized sporting event.

A few weeks ago, the streets of Rovaniemi were closed...not for Bicycle-Sport, no Motorsports..real Horsepower, or should I admit real Deer Power :D...

Welcome to the Reindeer Race of Rovaniemi!...Only can be seen in Finland. I ll guess we normal Europeans have different tastes in Sports and cultural events :P

But no worries :) Finland still belongs to Europe, and has of course, typical geographical elements representing the weather of the seasons...

As you hopefully have read on my blog, the typical finnish winter represents as the following:

Starting from Oktober, moving on of November, December, January, until February... Darkness rules the Nature and Social Life...

but then suddenly...the sun is shining again, and all the people in Finland wake up and realize, Hey... it's definetely to light in here :)

It is really impressive, how the situation of light can affect people's life. In the winter time, it was not that easy to always motivate myself, you just loose your motivation in everything, being tired all day(if you can speak of a day when there is almost no light available).. and then:

As someone has switched on the light... The sun rises nowadays in the Morning from around 5.00 am,  and stays light until 7.30 pm

Isn't that a little bit strange? As the nature just meant to play a trick on humanity :)
Okay...Well I see the consideration in the temperatures,  -15°C with the wind in Rovaniemi is not that really warm weather to sit outside, have some BBQ, cold Beers and enjoy sunbathing...

Taking Sun...The Finnish Way

But you can always dream[ sunbathing with a winterjacked, scarf, and of course the sunglasses], and for example today..it was +1 °C, a new sensation to celebrate, I almost have no snow on my balcony anymore, except the 75 cm high snow hills on the corners of my balcony :P

One next step closer on adapting to the finnish culture, you definetely need some snacks for coffee... so Henna and I have made our own "Pulla" :)

...which is very excellent to have while inviting Friends for Coffe :)

Tomorrow, You ll find here on this Blog a new report about more typical finnish features like

ICEFISHING

and

Snow Mobile Safari

Have a nice day!

Finnish - invented by Engineers?

Finnish - invented by Engineers to communicate and take part in social life?...

"The key to life is accepting challenges.
Once someone stops doing this, he's dead."
(Bette Davis)

Puhutko Suomea? [ Do you speak finnish? ]
In this post, I would like to talk a little bit about the Language "Finnish/Suomea".

I am now here in Rovaniemi, Finland, since September 2012..and finnish is still a quite interesting challenge for me.

http://geomeer.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/running_businesman_jpg1.jpg

It was never a problem for me to learn a foreign language.
When I started my studies here in Rovaniemi, everyone was speaking English. English at the University, English in your working and living area, English while you are buying things, asking things etc. all the time English.
English is really the most common used language here for us Students.

And then came my "Survival Finnish"-Course...let's learn some Finnish and try it in Real life in practice.

Well finnish is not easy to understand. The mainly reason for this are fast speaking-people.
I don't know sometimes when a word starts or ends, and/or if the person is still alive and breathing or already swallowing new words :)

Society widely thinks that we Engineers are unable to take part in sociality and life
As an Engineer, Life is not easy!
That's maybe the reason why we Engineers are trying to develop simple and easy solutions for complicated problems, to make life for effective and simple.

BUT How will be for an Engineer? or somebody like me who is a becoming engineer?

Let's take a close look to applied finnish in technics - Cold Technics.
I don't to go too much into detail, but all of you are using this cold technics for example in your fridge/freezer( don't mix it up ).

Here comes the first proof,  the finnish language might be invented by some technical engineers!
As you can see in the picture, there are a lot of similarities to the german Language:

...To be continued!

The Fins don't only use a few gramatical cases as we germans do. I guess they have around 15 :)

Life as an Insinööri in Finland

Life of an Insinööri in Finland!

Tervetuola kaikki!(Welcome All). In this post I would like to reflect the current situation of my experiences here somewhere at the end of the world,  where some Northern Lights rules the night sky...

taken  in the city center of Rovaniemi on Sunday 17.03.2013 at 20.30 o' clock
Camera: Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 :)
...light and darkness in Winter and Summer playing tricks on people's mind...

...and the snow is still present until propably the end of May...

...where people don't get enough of cold and go ice-swimming...

...and where the Nature still dominates Humanity...

Welcome to the Artic Circle and the officla Hometown of Santa and the Heart of Lappland...Rovaniemi!

First of all, I have to disappoint some of you guys. I am sorry :D but until now, there is no marriage plant in Kuntotie :P

but let s see what and how Finnland and it's magical impacts affect myself :)

Well I have to admit, I started to drink coffee here...

and I somedays, I have the feeling that I can swear already in Finnish( except rolling the "R" )

and that I am always on the run. Everytime there is something, and I am happy that I didn't compeltely lost one of the main parts of German Culture besides drinking beer...the timetable-addictness and feeling organized.
For sure my room looks always clean, when my parents, my friends, or even my grandfather calls me :)

I have so many things to tell you, and no idea when I should write all those posts, but stay tuned :)

An Update about the finnish Language is coming soon:)

Top 100 and Sleeping in a Snow-Icehotel

Sleeping in a Snow-Icehotel?

Come to sleep in a Snow-Icehotel...they said...it will be an experience..they said...
Let's take a look at the prices...Okay aaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone...

As a student it is not easy to purchase all those kind of trips and adventures, but there are always possibilites to reach your aims and dreams...

Why and how can somebody imagine to sleep in a Hotel, which is made completely out of Snow and Ice ?

The whole group of testies
You could ask: "Isn't there enough snow, cold, ice and darkness( no polar bears ) in Finland? I mean they have snow until May/June :( :( :(

Why is somebody interested in spending more time in cold winter conditions..?

In the Medicine and Health Care Campus of the University of Applied Sciences, there was a request for "rabbits" presented by normal students to take part in a medical survey project. The project's aim was that all the testies(rabbits) were spending one night in a snow-ice hotel in Kemi, while having some EKG-Measuresystem wearing for a total time of three days and three nights. They want to take a look at your stresslevel, about the sleeping experience, how your body will react to such cold winter conditions ( -5 °C Room temperature ) and some other medical stuff which I tried to understand and to follow the points, but already forget.

Sleeping in a  Snow-Icehotel...well it could be a nice and unique experience,... and it is also standing on some of those prepared, " Oh I don't know what to post on the internet" Guys who search some attraction and eyecatchers or social friends while uploading some random stuff and renaming it like " TOP 100 THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE..."-lists.
So it could be a nice idea. The project also paid the hotel night...so let's go!

The whole hotel is build of snow and ice. The hotel includes around 50 rooms,

The hotel is rebuild every year, and represented with a new art topic :)

It also includes:
one restaurant, where you can eat for a lot of money :)

but atleast everythign feels like totally icy and provide you a unique winter experience

one chapel

a lot of poeple get married in there, maybe some good idea for somebody?

and some places for creative artists,to present some of their works(topic and theme changes every year,  this year it was comic and media)

And of course there should be no ANGRY BIRDS missing :)

an integrated sound level indication bar :)

Some random sculptures in one of the restaurant rooms

again the Angry Birds

Ahhh I love those Angry Birds :D :D :D

and also some very impressive ice sculptures :)

To sleep there was a quite nice experience. The room was about -5°C cold, and almost completely dark.
It took some time to get in those sleepingbags, because you really had to be cover yourself totally except a small window for your face to breath.

Luckily we had some really warm sleeping bags,  but you could not move very well with it. While I was trying to sleep, I thought , hey let s keep some more space on your face...3 min later I could feel the freezing air on my lips, it felt like they were totally stuck in cold water.

But before you go to sleep in a Icehotel, you should also be a little bit creative and try some things out:

Me in the chapel as a pastor :)
I could not really convince the people to trust an engineer...

That was there result for me :D

But I found afterwards a good playground for kids :P

So stay tuned for the next blogupdate about the finnish Language and a Snow Mobile Safari

finnish Honeybread and Sauna

Honeybread, Sauna, and Finnish Directness

Even if the weather looks beautiful outside,

it is not that cold outside, only around - 15 °C.

You sometimes just feel like...

yes exactly, surrounded and covered by snow :) [and cold ]

Then it is the right time to have a finnish Sauna :)

And it can not always match your expectations, but atleast you can have some good talks ( see my older post about finnish sauna ) and relax.

And sometimes you can just heat up too much, as you can see the reactions on the following picture.
First, let s take a look about the reaction of the finnish guys after the Sauna

"It is too fuckin hot here... I ll need some cool fresh air...ahh...now it s fine..." said Vesa
"For sure we can sit here next to the cold door, only in tshirts... we are finnish..." said Eero

On the one hand i can understand the finnish reaction, I mean when you are used to live in the cold, and always covered and traced by coldness, snow, and darkness, In a land when you can be happy if there is NO snow left in Begin of June...

But let s also take a look at the reaction of my friends from Ethopia

I think you can easily see, who s get used to cold and who is get used to heat :)

On the weekend it was time for the cottage weekend in Leirikarie, where lots of Games, Drinks, and Group Activities were placed on the schedule.

Thanks for the amazing weekend!

One of my finnish friends, Topi, yes there is no writing mistake in his name, it is correct with a "p" in the middle,  strange naming conventions but nevertheless, Topi, was a little bit suspicious about our Sauna stories...

Topi: I don't believe you guys :)
So at this point, it was his try, to make sure, that we all drink a little bit more, or play the games in a finnish way :)

Rosa, and Topi ( Finland )

Atleast Rosa was our insurance to stay alive the whole evening :)

This whole scenery reminds me totally of the movie called "Horrible Bosses" known as "Kill the Boss" in Germany :)

Maybe some of you guys remember this scene of the movie:

The next morning was a little bit "hangovered". And it got even better, when some of the Austrian guys eat some good Honeybread in the morning.

Philipp and Hubert

"How can you put Honey on a bread for breakfast?"... said by a few finnish tutors

For us middle, east, center, south and west Europeans it is totally normal to put honey on your bread in the morning... I am not sure about the Swedish or Norwegian guys, but I ll ask some and let s see :)

But the lovely weather and coffee helps a lot :)

Stay tuned for the next blog update :)
