I will never complain...

In-Time-Update:  it is snowing in Rovaniemi :)

This picture shows the snow fall of 20 min,  let s see how it will look like later on the day.
I have the impression, that it wouldn't stop snowing today.

After one hour, the same road:  to be precisely:  16th of October, 4.25 pm GMT +2

4.25 pm at the 16 th of October 2012
Later on that day, Nacho and I decided to go to the city center, to buy some things, and of course, enjoy the cold winter.

the new bridge of Rovaniemi
In between 2 hours, the whole city was covered by snow. By meaning snow,  i mean snow,  and not that typically mix of snow-water-dirt...you expect in Germany as a first snow.

LORDI's Square in snow!

Tutor for Mathematics....check!

Tutor for Information Technology...on the best way!

Maybe I should become a Professor?...

Embedded Systems - like a Sir!

Last Friday,I also had my first exam in Object-Oriented Programming in JAVA ( Programming Language ), and that is the reason, why it took so long to update my Blog :)

import java.Relax;

public abstract class Exam
{
private static int Exam_is_over=1;

private Party music;

protected feelinGood()
{
System.out.println("Time to Relax");
music = 1;
}
public abstract long getMusic(music);
}

Now I have one week off from any kind of lectures, but I have to learn a little bit the finnish Language and also write some Essays.

One of the best places to work in the University is the pLab

or in the Basic of Embedded Systems Laboratory :)

Hyvää yöta!

North Cape...There and Back again!

In this Post I would like to report about my Trip to the North Cape in Norway, the most northern point of Europe!

We were about nine people(Bianca,Birgit, Julia : Austria ; Ryota: Japan; Kyeng Mi; South Corea Benjamin,Christina,Holger & Myself: Germany, who took part in this trip, starting on Saturday morning, the 6th of October.
A good preparation is always as good way to start planning a trip.
Birgit and Julia made the hostel booking part of the trip, Holger, Bianca and I looked for the car.

The Distance would be about 680 km, 8h 35 min of travel. As you all know, Men don't need any GPS or Navigation to find their way to destinations,  it is in our blood to find the right way. But to calm down our ladies, Holger and I looked up the route. We calculated a total travel time for 10-11hours, including all the breaks, taking picture of the beautiful landscape etc.

All the people, who know about our trip, warned us to take care of reindeers on the streets. Its very hard to see them, when there is a forest near to both sides of the road.

So we set up the departure at 5am. Holger would take the first drivin part, and I would help him, detecting reindeers on the street.

our rented car,  in a very good condition and german!

The first three hours were very difficult,  lots of darkness, lots of forest, but we made it.

In Finland, it is normally allowed to drive about 80 up to 100 km per hour.
After 3 hours of driving,  our protectionsystem in the second row, Benni, was just screaming, REINDEERS, and so our first meeting with the finnish animals was complete:

After this interesting meeting and sayin hello to the reindeers, we continued our journey.

Next stop was on the Lake Inari :) Beautiful lake, but nothin special in my opinion.
After 5 hours of driving,  we reached the border to Norway :) Welcome to Norway!

Holger was very tough in driving. He drove about nearly six hours , until he said, okay, those are my last reindeers for today, so next turn was Benjamin's turn.

A very interesting thin on our way were the streets. It looked like someone had just decided one time: "lets build up one street, it doesnt matter through a mountain, or through a hill and a valey or forest, just get a way to the north. The quality of the streets were acceptable and good-driveable. Sometimes it seems to be a bit strange by passing all those hills and valeys...

The landscape of Norway was very beautiful. The entire streets leads you along the cost,

 so we had many excellent options to take some pictures :)
in the background, you can see our Minivan :)
Time to have some fun :)

As you can see, the weather was very cloudy(no not Claudi-o) and windy. We also had to cope with some foggy views, but we hoped the best to get a good view on the North Cape.

But we made it, after around 11 hours of travelling,  here it goes:

Birgit,Mi,Julia,Bianca,Tina,Ryota,Benjamin and Holger.  I took the picture :)

And now...time to do some funny things on the North Cape :) I mean, it looks foggy, the wind blew up everything, and it felt like - 10 degree, but no argument for heating up this place :)

11 hours of traveling to see just nothin?...not acceptable.
The mood in the group was a little bit explosive, some of us were a little bit disappointed and tired after the long journey.
Hoenigsvag
So I made the proposal to go there back again early in the morning..I got the feeling that I was the leader on this trip, because when I made this proposal, everyone said yes, and felt a little better after it, keeping in mind that we can still get a better view of the North Cape and it's beautiful open sea.

 So we decided to get back to our Hostel(about 30 km away) in Hoenigsvag(Norway), cook somethin, have some beers, and get to the North Cape the next day again.

We had to be in Rovaniemi at 9 pm, so we decided to get up at 6 am, being at the North Cape again at 7am, stayin there for half an hour, geting back to the Hostel to get breakfast at 8 am, and finally leaving Hoenigsvag at 9 am :)

It was a good idea :P  Again not much sleep, cold and more wind as the day befor, but it was totally worth. Take a look for your self for the next pictures :)
Words are not able to express this moment :)

Part III - Leirikari Cottage Weekend

So here is the last part of the Leirikari Cottage Weekend. Finally I have time to share you my experiences :)

After playin the baseball match, there was a finnish Quiz and a typically Fashion show on the programs content.

The topic of the fashion show was "Winter Fashion - Dress Up as interesting as you can with the most or the less clothes.

What all the party guys in the Cottage expected:

that would have been a good idea! Maybe on the next Leirikari Cottage Weekend?
That would have been a very good idea,  maybe I have to make this as a suggestion to the finnish Tutors for the next Leirikari Cottage Weekend.

I always wanted to put this picture on our fridge, because there is already the opposite of this picture for the girls[ advertising for underware, ], and my Mum was against it :) [ Hope it will make you smile mum&dad when you can see this picture :)]

Well here comes the real fashion show. As I mentioned before,  we were stuck into groups, and it was still a group competition,  my group was "Still Drunk" and I wanted to win this challenge. When it comes to choose the person, who represents the ideas and the interpretation of the fasion, everyone chose me.

So here is the result :) Hope you will enjoy it!

Toto & Me,  aren't we hot?
rocking the Fashion Show with Holger :)
Sadly my team didn't win the competition :)
At the end of the fasion show, our Tutors also presented us some finnish way of Interpretation :)
Ladiessssssssssssssss & Gentlemensssssssssssss, I am proud to announce Santa Claus and his bitch.

To summarize, it was a very funny evening, with lots of laughing, bad jokes and sarcasm.

I hope you enjoyed my report about the Leirikari Cottage Weekend! It was a very funny weekend, with lots of games, nice talks, stupid and funny actions like the competitions or the group tasks. And of course I have to mention the fantastic sauna,  thanks for the nice talks inside :)

On my next post I will report about my trip to Oulu and to the North Cape,  so stay decent!

short Update: Aurora Borealis

Post about Leirikari Part III is under construction, i will upload it tomorrow :)

But until it s online,  I would serve you a small post :)

Just went out for a few drinks on a birthdayparty.

It was a really excellent idea to install a camera in the entrance, taking pictures of everything and everyone :)

I have to adapt this idea on my next birthday party :)or on my welcome back party :)

We all had a good time, when suddenly one exchangestudent just entered the room and screamed out loudly:  Aurora Borealis outside,  Northern Lights, they are there, just go out!

Unluckily I had not my camera with me, and my 5.0 mpx camera inside the mobile phone was too weak.

But our University provided us with an awesome picture, so here it is :)
